Chris to Play for Mobile Main Draw
$15,000 NEWTON COX CLASSIC, MOBILE, ALABAMA ~ In his second-round qualifying matchup today against Kevin King (USA), Chris got off to a slow start but rallied to secure a spot in the finals with a 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory.  In the opening set, King got off to fast start as Chris could not find his game resulting in a quick 6-2 advantage for King.  Needing to win the next two sets to advance, Chris became more aggressive as he started attacking King and with it his play picked up momentum.  After getting a critical break of King's serve, Chris held to take the second set 6-3.  The third set was tightly contested but once again it was Chris who got the necessary service break to seize control of the match and won the deciding set 6-4.  With his 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 win, Chris plays Sergio Ramirez (COL) tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. (CT) for a spot in the main draw.  Ramirez moved into the qualifying finals by defeating Evan Specht (USA) in three sets 3-6, 6-2, 6-3.  As soon as Chris' qualifying finals result from Mobile is in, we will bring it to you.
